DECAL Classroom Grant FAQs

DECAL Classroom Grants Round 2, made possible by Governor Brian Kemp and the Georgia Department of Early Care and Learning (DECAL), are funded through the American Rescue Plan Act and are in addition to the $1,000 supplemental payment recently issued through the Providing Our Workforce Essential Recognition (POWER) Round 3 program. For child care programs, each eligible staff member (see below for eligible roles) who was eligible to receive a POWER Round 3 payment will automatically receive this classroom grant. For Georgia’s Pre-K Programs, eligibility for Georgia’s Pre-K lead and assistant teachers will be determined by those teachers reported on the Pre-K roster as of September 16, 2022 at 5:00 PM. For Georgia’s Pre-K, Multiple Substitutes Used will not receive a classroom grant. The grant funds can be accessed and must be spent through a vendor called ClassWallet. The funds, which must be spent by October 31, 2022, must be used for supplies and materials from DECAL approved vendors.
